Hotel Red Chair (U Cervene Zidle)

I wish I could leave a better review for this hotel. While I enjoyed the location and the room, I was almost stranded on a Saturday night due to the "reception" for this hotel. When I first booked the hotel online, I received a message stating that reception for *this* hotel was in a different hotel down the street. It was only a minute walk from my hotel so I didn't think much of it. The real problem began when I had to actually check into reception the first day of my trip. The hotel states their reception closes at 9PM, so I made accommodations to get to the hotel as quickly as possible (as my flight landed around 7pm). I got to the hotel at 8PM, one hour before reception was supposed to close. Once I was dropped off in front of the hotel where reception would be, I was greeted by a locked door with no lights on in the building and a small sticky note stating to call this phone number to reach someone. As I only had data to use but no actual international phone number, I had no way to contact that phone number to have someone open the door to reception. If it had not been for a friend who called the number for me, I would've been stranded at 9pm on a Saturday night *in the winter of December*. I received no apology from the staff member who eventually came. Disappointing. If you state your reception will be open until a certain time, actually follow through. While the hotel room was clean, their hot water kettle was scummy with a layer of white residue. It was unusable.

This hotel was amazing.. and I used to stay at big chains like Marriott and Sheraton.. but this was more amazing! felt the spirit of the city. Big room.. amazing lovely staff.. easy check in and check out. Great location.. no need for taxi everything is walkable. Recommended to everyone I know and I will come again! Thank you!

Good location, paper walls, lot of noise from other rooms. If you are not on the top floor, be prepared for hearing foot steps rumble in your whole room. No way to change rooms even after asking the service as it was full, so good luck having polite people in other rooms who don't shout and let you sleep. Water pressure is not so good, sometimes it's a normal shower sometimes you can't shower properly. Nothing much to say, you'll be in the very city centre so the location is worth it, the rooms are clean and big, but the noise can really hurt your sleep the days you spend here.

We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The location is incredible - very close (I.e., 3 minute walk) to the Charles Bridge, lots of restaurants and the main square. It felt very safe, being just off a Main Street and with various locks and keypads. The proximity of the hotel to everywhere made our stay in Prague very pleasant. Our room was very tidy with a lovely fit-out in a “classic” style. There is a small fridge and a kettle. The bed was super comfortable. The room opens into a quiet alleyway. We enjoyed coming back to our room late afternoon and resting with the windows open, listening to the quiet chatter of people coming and going. Once closed, the windows were very soundproof. The room had a strong tan and the open windows were good at cooling the room, even though it was around 30 degrees. The rooms were briefly serviced each day (bins emptied and beds made) but I don’t think the towels were changed. I would stay here again.

Had a great stay at this hotel as two female travellers. The ladies who helped us check-in were wonderful and helpful. The cleaning staff was also great. However, on our last day we asked to check-out an hour later and the man working the desk with white hair and glasses said it was okay in an abrasive tone and told us our room key was available till noon. We stepped out to grab something to eat and when we came back at 11:30 am we were locked out. We went to the front desk again and he was extremely rude telling us that we needed to get out soon for the next clients and that we should’ve left earlier even though he was the one that said noon was okay. Then he gaslit us into telling us our room was another number than it actually was even though we clarified multiple times. The hotel was great however he ruined our last experience being extremely rude. I would recommend providing him with customer service training. Thank you!
