About this hotel

The Elegant, newly reconstructed (3 star+) hotel Antik City is situated in a quiet silent street just few steps from Wenceslas Square, just in the heart of the centre of historical Prague. Formerly an office block it has been elegantly converted and offers comfortable accommodation. It is surprisingly quiet as Mala Stepanska is very much in the city centre however, its in a sheltered spot being surrounded by residential buildings.

Location

Very close to Wenceslas and Charles Squares. The metro stations Karlovo namesti and Mustek are nearby and offer fast connections to all parts of the city. In addition there a very regular trams on Jecna street which is literally a stones throw away. Distance from major attractions: Wenceslas Square: 500m Old Town Square: 1.2km Charles Bridge: 1.6km Prague Castle: 3.0km

The hotel's Old Town address puts it within a very short walk of Dlouhá street's cluster of restaurants, cafés and small independent shops, an area popular with both visitors and locals rather than being purely tourist-facing. From here it is a brief walk to Náměstí Republiky, home to the Art Nouveau Municipal House concert hall, and to the Old Town Square with its astronomical clock, one of the most visited sights in the city. The surrounding streets of Staré Město preserve much of their medieval layout, with narrow lanes opening onto small squares, making the area well suited to exploring on foot rather than relying on transport.

Hotel seems to have gone through a makeover so the rooms and common areas are relatively new and the interior design is something that is very nice. What I would like to see is having bed side tables and a trash can for the room (separate to the one on the bathroom). Quiet place to stay, comfortable and affordable. Staff is very friendly and the highlight from my stay was that they packed me the breakfast cause I had to be at the airport at 7:00 am. Felt really happy and comfortable at this hotel :)

We really enjoyed our stay here at Antik City Hotel. Other people saying it's far from the city center must be afraid of walking or just assuming that old Town is the city center. It is quite close to everything. And a meagre 20 minute walk from the train station. The front desk manager was incredibly nice and helpful, despite some communication failure on my part. She also printed out for us some tourist things we could do and get into for free, because of our stay at a hotel in Prague. Now that's service. The room was quite spacious although, similar to other reviewers, we felt the lack of a bedside table problematic. The shelf above the bed was just a bit too high up. Also, the fridge in our room was generating a lot of heat, which perhaps normally isn't a problem but with 27 degrees it certainly became warm. The room and bathroom was very clean and maintained. The breakfast was varied and offered a lot of alternatives and tasted very good. With what I think was home-baked break as well. Cozy little dining area as well. The first morning the radio was mostly playing static noise which got very annoying very quickly but it seemed to just have been a fault of the radio station since I heard similar things in other places of Prague that day. My only real gripe despite the heat from the fridge and the radio static was that housekeeping came around to the room around 3 pm when we were having a rest. Maybe it's due to a different culture, but I expected housekeeping to come in around 11 am to 12 and not so late in the afternoon. We ended up declining housekeeping the first day because of this. When housekeeping did clean the room I was surprised to see that we didn't get any new towels. Now, I have no problem using the same ones, but, with it being a four star hotel, I did expect them to have changed them. I am sure this would not have been a problem at all, had it bothered me to the point or asking for new towels. Overall, definitely enjoyed our stay at the hotel, the service from the receptionist was very welcoming and friendly, going above and beyond. The hotel is clean and stylish and for being four stars, the rooms are definitely on the cheaper side. I believe I will come back in the future. Thanks for everything!

One of the few hotel still with metal keys instead of a key card. I like that! My room was spacious and comfortable with a pleasant decor. The bed was comfy and large; the bathroom had a bathtub with shower but you have to hold the shower head with your hand when you bathe. The bathroom kit is a bit too basic and it would have helped to have a vanity kit with cotton swabs, shower cap and maybe a sponge as many hotels do. Breakfast is from 8:00am to 10:00am which is not good if you have to leave early. I would also improve the buffet breakfast in general with more croissants, more fruits, etc… Check-in and -out was smooth and the location of the hotel is central. The lobby on the ground floor is a delightful spot to chill out. They were shooting a movie when I arrived the first night. I would choose it again.

LIKE : - I LOVE the decoration of this hotel in every corner. It's very modern but quite antique in the same time. - The bed is very comfortable. The toilet is very clean and modern. - The breakfast room is also very nice decoration. And there are various kinds of food choices. DISLIKE : - It's quite far from the city centre. - The lady at the reception is very nice but I do not know what wrong with the girl at the breakfast room. She is VERY unfriendly. I said hello and good morning and she just kept her mouth shut. Then my boyfriend also said to her and she did the same thing.... silence.

+ The staff was really friendly and helpful. Satisfactory breakfast buffet. The room was clean and spacious and the location is excellent and within walking distance to the city centre. - The room was not really practical, as there were some basic pieces of furniture missing such as a nightstand, or a chair. The bathroom was also quite small without adequate space or a shelf to place toiletries on.
