The building's origins trace back to the 14th century, when the Augustinian order founded the first monastic brewery of St Thomas on the site. The house acquired its current name and sign, showing three storks, following a Renaissance-era reconstruction in the 17th century, while the facade seen today dates from a Classicist rebuilding in 1794 and 1820 that joined it with three neighbouring buildings into a single structure.

Location

The location of this Hotel couldn’t be better, in Tomáąská Street, Lesser Town. It is located in less then a km form Wenceslas Square and Charles Bridge but right under the magnificent Prague castle. The quiet neighbourhood of Lesser offers attractive and interesting tourist sights as well as restaurants and coffees of great refinement.

The hotel occupies a historic house on Valdštejnské náměstí in Malá Strana, directly below Prague Castle. The Baroque Wallenstein Palace and its formal gardens are around a six-minute walk away, and Prague Castle itself is reachable on foot in roughly fifteen minutes, making the hotel a convenient base for exploring the castle district without needing to climb all the way up before or after sightseeing.
